Stipe Pletikosa was selected as the Carlsberg Man of the Match award winner in Croatia's UEFA EURO 2008â„¢ Group B victory over Austria after he kept the co-hosts at bay with a string of superb saves.
Confidence
The keeper, who missed the tournament four years ago, said he was happy with the award. He told euro2008.com: "I am happy, but the most important thing is that we won and now we have our first three points. Probably we didn't play the best, there will be different opinions about that. We were lucky and, all in all, the most important thing is the three points and that we can go on more self-confident from here."
Importance
He added: "Austria played really aggressively today. We played more in defence; we were trying to keep the result safe and possibly look for the opportunity to score one more time, but it didn't happen. The most important thing is that Austria didn't score."

Non riesco a capire se effettivamente è questo quello che conta.

Non so però se la Uefa dà un premio speciale come Man of the match in base a propri ragionamenti.
Questa mi parrebbe una pagliacciata perchè il portiere croato ha fatto parate normalissime su tiri telefonati. Mi pare davvero una cazzata fosse così dato il Man of the match.
Se qualcuno sa qualcosa di più
